A rare and highly elegant Calatrava with true collector appeal. This Patek Philippe Ref. 2509, produced around 1960, stands out for its refined proportions and a special historical detail: an “S&L” engraving on the caseback, applied by the renowned Caracas retailer Serpico y Laino.

While not a dial-signed example, these retailer engravings are a known practice of Serpico y Laino and add an additional layer of provenance and collectability to the watch.

Measuring approximately 35 mm, the Ref. 2509 offers a noticeably larger and more modern presence compared to earlier Calatravas, while retaining the clean, timeless design language Patek Philippe is known for.

This example features a first series dial, the most desirable configuration among collectors, with a beautifully balanced layout and classic mid-century aesthetics.

Inside beats the manually wound Caliber 12-400, a high-grade movement finished to the standards expected from Patek Philippe during this golden era.
