An understated masterpiece of high watchmaking. This Vacheron Constantin Ref. 43031 represents one of the most elegant perpetual calendar wristwatches of the modern era and one of the earliest executions of the model, dating to around 1985.

Housed in a beautifully proportioned 36 mm 18k yellow gold case, the watch features a refined silver dial with applied indices and an early Swiss Sigma signature, indicating the use of precious metal components. The perpetual calendar layout with moonphase is perfectly balanced, crisp, and preserved in exceptional condition, free from patina or blemishes.

At its heart beats the legendary Caliber 1120 QP, based on the iconic Jaeger-LeCoultre 920 architecture, ultra-thin, finely finished, and regarded as one of the greatest automatic movements ever produced. This example was professionally serviced in December 2020, with invoice on file, and runs clean and true.

Produced in only approximately 2,300 pieces between 1983 and 2006, the Ref. 43031 predates the Patek Philippe 3940 and holds a special place among collectors, particularly in this early configuration.
